A real estate agent email list is for companies that sell to agents: CRM and transaction software, showing and photography services, title, mortgage and insurance partners, coaching, and brokerages recruiting agents. It is not a list of home buyers or sellers. Because most agents are self-employed and pay for their own tools, it is really three lists: agents, team leaders and brokers.
Scalelist, an AI lead finder, does not sell a pre-built realtor email list. Below: how many agents there are and who may be called a Realtor, who pays at each level, the fields to keep, Lead Finder sentences with real counts, what 500 brokers cost, a call opener, and the calling rules for agents’ mobiles.
How many real estate agents are there in the US?
NAR membership stood at 1,439,163 on 18 June 2026, down from 1,463,352 a year earlier, according to the National Association of Realtors. BLS counts about 530,600 real estate broker and sales agent jobs in 2025 including self-employed workers: 427,000 sales agents and 103,500 brokers.
The BLS employer survey alone finds 239,470, because 55% of broker jobs and 54% of sales agent jobs are self-employed. For offices, BLS counts 158,689 real estate agent and broker offices with employees (2025).

Bigger numbers circulate. ARELLO’s license verification service holds 4,352,755 real estate license records from 43 jurisdictions: records, not working agents. A file sold as “3 million agents” is counting licenses.
Realtor email list or real estate agent email list?
A Realtor is a member of NAR. NAR’s membership marks “identify members of NAR and distinguish them from non-members”, so a realtor email list should contain only NAR members, while a real estate agent email list can include non-members. If your list mixes both, write “agent” in your merge fields, never “Realtor”.
Who pays for tools: agents, team leaders or brokers?
Who pays depends on the level: the agent pays for personal tools, the team leader for team tools, the broker for anything office-wide. NAR’s 2026 Member Profile gives the budget context: median business expenses of 9,530 USD in 2025, up from 8,010 USD, with vehicle costs the biggest line.

| Level | What they buy | US profiles in Scalelist |
|---|---|---|
| Broker-owner, managing or principal broker | Brokerage software, recruiting, compliance, training | 70,485 |
| Team leader | Team CRM, lead routing, admin support | 14,752 |
| Agent | Own CRM, marketing, photography, coaching | 1,401,172 (all agent titles) |
| Transaction coordinator | Influence on transaction tools | 14,755 |
| Brokerage operations and marketing | Platforms rolled out to many agents | 7,891 (firms of 51 to 1,000) |
Teams matter more than their share suggests. 21% of Realtors were on a team in 2025, and teams, typically four people, closed a median of 32 transaction sides against nine for a typical individual agent (NAR). Most members already use MLS software, digital transaction management, e-signatures and a CRM, so you are replacing a tool, not filling a gap.
What should a real estate agent email list include?
A real estate agent email list needs the level (agent, team leader, broker) and the market on every row, because a pitch for a solo agent in Phoenix fails with a managing broker in Denver.
| Field | Why it matters | Example (fictional) |
|---|---|---|
| Name and role | Agent, team leader or broker | Rachel Moreno, Managing Broker |
| Brokerage and office | Who signs for office-wide tools | Summit Peak Realty, Boulder office |
| Market | City and state; real estate is local | Boulder, Colorado |
| Residential or commercial | Different tools and cycles | Residential |
| Work email and status | Valid, Risky or Not found | Valid |
| Mobile number | Reaches the agent directly | +1 555 0114 |
| Time at brokerage | A recent move means new tools | 2 years |
| Date found | Agents change brokerages; rebuild before each campaign | 28 Sep 2026 |
Lead Finder understands title, company, location, company size and time in role. It does not know license status, NAR membership or sales volume, so check the state license lookup when it matters and ask about volume on the call.
Should you buy a realtor email list or build one?
Build one. A bought realtor email list sized from license or membership records cannot separate the agent who buys a CRM for herself from the broker who buys for 80 agents. You need the level you sell to, in your markets, found this month.
| Factor | Bought realtor email list | Agent list you build |
|---|---|---|
| Who is on it | Every licensee or member the seller has | Agents, team leaders or brokers you choose |
| Level | Not marked | Built into the sentence |
| Freshness | Compiled before you paid | Found the week you call |
| Verification | One claim for the whole file | Valid, Risky or Not found per email |
| Cost | Per record, upfront | 1 credit per lead or email found, 20 per mobile, misses free |
The general case, across industries, is in B2B email lists: build or buy.
How to build a real estate agent email list in Scalelist
You build a real estate agent email list in Scalelist by describing the level and the market in one sentence, reading the count, then revealing mobiles and emails.
Example: Jordan Pike runs sales at ShowingPath (fictional), a showing-scheduling tool sold per brokerage office, from Denver. One managing broker can roll it out to a whole office, so Jordan types this into Scalelist’s Lead Finder:

Lead Finder showed 3,046 brokers in Colorado on 28 September 2026, before any credit was spent.

What 500 brokers cost
A broker with a verified email and a mobile costs at most 22 credits, so 500 cost at most 11,000 credits, about 357 USD at the Scaler 20K rate. What each monthly plan covers:
| Plan | Credits per month | Price per month | Brokers with email and mobile (at least) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scaler 2K | 2,000 | 89 USD | 90 |
| Scaler 5K | 5,000 | 199 USD | 227 |
| Scaler 10K | 10,000 | 349 USD | 454 |
| Scaler 20K | 20,000 | 649 USD | 909 |
“At least”, because a mobile or email that is not found costs nothing. In our benchmark on 100 North American founders and CEOs (not agents), Scalelist found an email for 92% and a phone for 87%; details are on the provider comparison. All plans are on Scalelist pricing.
Describe the agents, teams or brokers you sell to, and see the count before you spend a credit.

Each segment is one sentence to paste into Lead Finder. Counts are matching US profiles on 28 September 2026, an upper bound.
| Segment | Sentence to type in Lead Finder | Matching profiles |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction coordinators | Transaction coordinators in the US | 14,755 |
| Team leaders | Team leaders at US real estate companies | 14,752 |
| Agents, one metro | Real estate agents and Realtors in Phoenix | 12,444 |
| Brokerage leadership | COOs, CTOs, directors of operations and marketing directors at US real estate companies with 51 to 1,000 employees | 7,891 |
| Commercial | Commercial real estate brokers and agents in Texas | 876 |
| Recent movers | Real estate agents and Realtors in Florida who changed jobs in the last 3 months | 642 |
The last row is a trigger: an agent who just joined a new brokerage is choosing tools again. Our guide to job change prospecting shows how to work that signal.
How to reach real estate agents
Agents are paid per transaction, so tie your pitch to transaction sides, hours per transaction or repeat business. NAR reports the typical member earned 28% of business from past clients in 2025, up from 20%, which is why “stay in touch with past clients” lands.
- Agents: one outcome per transaction, and a price that fits a budget with a median of 9,530 USD a year.
- Team leaders: capacity and routing for the team; a typical team closes a median of 32 sides.
- Brokers: recruiting and keeping agents, and office-wide adoption.

Hi Kevin,
How many texts does your team send to book one showing?
ShowingPath books showings for the whole team from one calendar and confirms them with the listing agent.

Is it legal to email and call real estate agents?
Yes, in the US, with care on the phone: most agents are self-employed, so the mobile you reach may be a personal number. This is a summary, not legal advice.
- Email: CAN-SPAM. “The law makes no exception for business-to-business email” (FTC). Honest headers and subject lines, your postal address, and opt-outs honored within 10 business days.
- Oklahoma and Florida. Oklahoma exempts business-to-business sales only in narrow cases and limits commercial solicitation calls to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and three per 24 hours on the same subject (HB 3168). Florida sets the same limits (s. 501.616); whether they reach B2B calls is unsettled. More in our guide to B2B cold calling laws.

How many real estate agents are there in the US?
About 530,600 people work as real estate brokers or sales agents, including the self-employed (BLS, 2025). NAR had 1,439,163 members on 18 June 2026, a membership count rather than a count of working agents. License databases hold millions of records, but those count licenses, not working agents. Scalelist matches 1,401,172 US agent, Realtor and broker profiles.
What is the difference between a realtor email list and a real estate agent email list?
A Realtor is a member of the National Association of Realtors, whose marks identify members and distinguish them from non-members. A realtor email list should contain only NAR members; a real estate agent email list can include any licensed agent or broker. If your list mixes both, call everyone an agent in your copy.
Can I use a real estate agent email list to find home buyers or sellers?
No. This page is about selling products and services to agents, teams and brokers. Scalelist finds business contacts at companies, such as agents and brokers at brokerages. It is not a source of consumers who want to buy or sell a home.
Can you buy a realtor email list?
Yes, list sellers offer them, but a file sized from license or membership records does not tell you who is a broker, a team leader or a solo agent. Building your own gives you the level you sell to, in your markets, with verified emails and mobiles, found the week you call.
Is it legal to cold call real estate agents?
Yes, with care. Sales calls to a business are generally exempt from Do Not Call rules, but many agents are self-employed and work from a mobile that may be personal, which Do Not Call rules protect. Dial by hand, call between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. local time, and text only with consent. This is not legal advice.
How much does a real estate agent email list cost?
With Scalelist, at most 22 credits per contact with a verified email and a mobile, 2 with an email only, and nothing for a miss. 500 brokers cost at most 11,000 credits, about 357 USD at the Scaler 20K rate. The Scaler 10K plan covers at least 454 fully enriched brokers a month.
